Stanly County Public Schools
Each area is served by a school system with a total of 4 High Schools in the area. There are a total of 3 Middle Schools and 15 Elementary Schools. New schools have recently been built in New London and the Locust area with more planned.

Stanly Community College
Stanly Community College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate degrees. Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates are offered by Stanly Community College in many areas of study  ranging from industrial to technological and allied health domains. Pfeiffer University
Pfeiffer University first opened its doors in 1885 as a mission school founded to provide an education to students who had few opportunities for formal learning.
