Elizabeth 'Inez' Watts Lail, 78
LOCUST - Elizabeth "Inez" Watts Lail, of 409 Simpson Road, Locust, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at the Bob and Caroline Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, after a lengthy illness. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel, Kannapolis, with the Rev. Kenny Wallace officiating. Interment will be at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Thursday at Whitley's. Mrs. Lail was born May 3, 1930, in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late June Watts and the late Lucy Gwaltney Watts. Inez was a lifelong area resident and member of First Baptist Church of Locust. She retired from Terry Products in Kannapolis. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Gilbert Watts. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Winferd "Pete" Lail of Locust; son, Dean Lail of Concord; daughters, Cynthia Stephens of Oldsmar, Fla., and Gloria Hopkins of Concord; three granddaughters; two grandsons; and one great-grandson.
