Annual National Letter Carriers (NALC) Food Drive. Volunteers needed to distribute collection bins Mon. May 9 to schools and daycares participating and pick up food and bins Fri. May 13th. You can also help by leaving bags of food at your mailbox Saturday May 14th for the National Food Collection Day. All food goes to Stanly Community Christian Ministry. Jobs include: Widen trails, water seal benches and picnic tables, clear brush and limbs, paint inside of lodge, spread mulch, trim brushes along roads, build Low Ropes shed, assemble picnic tables from kits. A new Stanly County agency that will provide a home for 1 to 6 months for Stanly County families in transition. Families will be on programs to ensure stability once they leave the transitional home. Pick up food at 11:00 at Locust Nutrition Site * 2nd Monday, 5th Tuesday, 3rd and 5th Wednesdays, 4th Thursday, 1st and 4th Friday Norwood route.
